Select "Configure XMod Module" from the Actions menu of any XMod module.
On the "General" tab, make sure you have a data-entry form selected. XMod uses this to determine which fields to make available to you.
Still on the "General" tab, in the filtering section, select which field you want XMod to filter on from the drop-down list box.
In the text box to the right of the list box, enter the value you want to use as the filtering condition. For instance, if the field you select is "FavoriteColors" - a multiple-value, or list-based field - then you might enter "red" to only show records in which the user selected "red" as their favorite color. Filtering is not case-sensitive.
If you choose a list-type field for filtering, you have another option available to you. Each item in a list has two components: the text displayed to the user and the value of the item. Depending on how you set up your list, these values may be the same or they may be different. By default, XMod searches the display text of list fields. To direct it to search the values, check the "use values" check box.
One final note about list fields. You can choose list fields that allow multiple selections. However, in this case, XMod will only look for your filter value in the first selected item in the list.
Finally, save your changes and exit.
